Custom Holistic Palliative Aromatherapy
WHAT IS CUSTOM HOLISTIC PALLIATIVE AROMATHERAPY FOR HUMANS AND ANIMALS:
FEES: Custom Holistic Palliative Aromatherapy in-person consultations are $120.00 plus product costs for the initial session and $60.00 plus product costs for any following consultations. Distance consultations (you use your own materials) are $120.00 with no additional product cost.
Custom Holistic Palliative Aromatherapy is a way to describe the art of my working with aromatherapy and essential oils specifically to help bring comfort and support to the experiences of dying, death and grief in relation to palliative care and a part of my Funerary Aromatherapy work. It combines my love of aromatherapy and essential oils with my desire to help those experiencing the dying process and their loved ones to find some solace in difficult times and addresses every level of being.
In Custom Holistic Palliative Aromatherapy, essential oils and aromatherapy are offered in ways similar to in a regular Custom Holistic Aromatherapy session but the approaches and the essential oil usage (and sometimes even the essential oils chosen) are much subtler. The goals of an aromatherapy session in a palliative context differ from a holistic one in terms of what support is being offered and to whom and why. Custom Palliative Aromatherapy can help bring calm, peace and support to both the palliative individual and their loved ones. Oils and methods used are chosen to fit the individual(s) and their needs and methods tend to be more limited in scope than with Custom Holistic Aromatherapy but are no less effective.
An in-person Custom Holistic Palliative Aromatherapy includes an intake consultation to address the needs of the client(s) and the scenario and environment they are in along with medical and health information, what the goal for the Custom Palliative Aromatherapy is and how it can best be used to suit the situation. Then I will create a custom product (or products) and show the client (healthcare team, caregivers, loved ones, etc if the client is unable to use them themselves) how to use them safely. All products come with safe usage instructions.
For distance Custom Holistic Palliative Aromatherapy consultations, the intake, design of customized products and safe usage instructions are all still given (by phone or internet) and the client will use THEIR OWN MATERIALS (so no additional product cost will be added to fees).

Essential oils can be used in many ways to support the palliative individuals themselves, their loved ones and those involved in their care and support.
~ For helping to alleviate stress, anxiety and depression.
~ To aromatically and energetically freshen up a room or space.
~ To help facilitate a more pleasant, open and calm experience for everyone and foster better communication.
~ To help allow memories to surface and be brought closure.
~ To help with the energetic and spiritual changes encountered throughout the palliative experience.
~ To help provide extra comfort and support to the individual and their loved ones throughout the process.
HOW CAN CUSTOM HOLISTIC PALLIATIVE AROMATHERAPY ASSIST DURING THE DYING AND DEATH PROCESSES?
The dying process is a unique experience for everyone and no two people's deaths will be the same, but there are certain markers that seem to leave people with a sense that a death was a "good" death and using essential oils may present us with another way to contribute to that experience.
~ To help soothe the anxiety and stress of the dying and the living loved ones.
~ To help facilitate the spiritual and energetic aspects of dying for the individual.
~ To help with the emotional aspect of anticipatory grief that can often proceed the death for both the dying and loved ones.
~ To help facilitate the easy transition of the soul (the energy) out of the body.
~ To help provide extra comfort and support to the individual and their loved ones throughout the process.
~ To create or add to spiritual rituals or ceremonies for the dying and for the dead (including memorials, funerals, etc).

Grief is one of the hardest earthly experiences that we ever have to go through. It is called grief “work" for a reason and there is no way around it except for through it, but essential oils can provide us with an aid to doing so. At those times when we may feel like we just cannot do it on our own, essential oils can help support us through those moments.
~ To help with the spiritual and energetic experiences of grief which can be difficult to externalize.
~ To help cope with the depression, anxiety, sadness, anger or fear that can accompany grief.
~ To help overcome the pain and debility of grief.
~ To help remember loved ones with love, peace and joy.
~ To help foster spiritual and intuitive ability and calm to connect and communicate with loved ones.
~ To help encourage healing, motivation and opening up again after a grief experience.
~To help provide extra comfort and support throughout the grieving process.
