After death, plants, aromatic oils and resins were used in the preparation of bodies to help both retard decay and aid preservation and prepare them for burial. This concept is common in most people’s minds when they think of Ancient Egypt but why can’t we continue those aromatic practices still today? We can!
WHAT CAN FUNERARY AROMATHERAPY SERVICE DO FOR FUNERAL HOMES:
There are many reasons for the use of Funerary Aromatherapy in funeral homes including spiritual, cultural, emotional but they can also be practical. Some of those ways could be:
~ Natural aromatic materials and botanicals can be employed in the care, cleaning and preparation of the body after death and in preparation for the final resting place in the form of scented body oils or lotions, body butters, anointing oils, perfumes, hair perfumes, serums, etc. They can even be custom created to the funeral home itself’s needs and / or the individual client and families as well.
~ Aromatic botanical materials can be incorporated into the after-death process to address client’s cultural and spiritual reasons.
~ Using natural botanicals and aromatics for environmental scenting to help improve the scent, the energy and the mood of the funeral home and can also be used to help personalize the memorial services of clients. Scent is also inextricably linked to memory so when used at memorials, it can spark fond memories and bring an added dimension of comfort to the service.
~ Scent can also be used to set one funeral home apart from another through a personalized scentscape.
FEES: The service costs $120.00 for an in-person consultation plus the cost of custom products (prices vary based on made-to-order products) and consists of a phone or in-person Funerary Aromatherapy consultation along with safe-usage instructions and the creation of the appropriate made-to-order aromatherapy products.
This aromatherapy service is available locally (based in St. Thomas, On, Ca), and by distance consultations by phone or internet. Distance consultations (you use your own materials) are $120.00 with no additional product cost.
